Expansion Pack

Expansion Pack: the Japanese base set

The Expansion Pack is the very first expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released in Japan in 1996, before the game reached the West as Base Set. Its cards, with no set symbol and the old Japanese card back, are the starting point of any vintage collection.

This collection gathers our single cards from the Japanese Expansion Pack, imported from Japan: first-generation Pokémon such as Nidoran♂, Nidorino, Weedle, Caterpie or Koffing. Simple, accessible cards to start a period collection or complete a binder page devoted to the original 151 Pokémon.

To keep exploring the origins, browse our Japanese vintage Pokémon cards, the ex block (ADV and PCG series) or our Pikachu cards.
